The Youth Development Programme aims to enhance the participation of young people in Kenya’s national development processes.
They key activities implemented to enhance participation include the provision of financial resources include grants to community based youth serving organizations over a 12 month period; technical-advisory support for institutional development; and opportunities for training and building capacity of youth in leadership within their communities to become more effective in their roles.
The training workshops are on leadership and social accountability.

Ustawi, Kiswahili word for prosperity, is a food security campaign that emerged from the frustration and fatigue that food relief efforts have left behind in Kenya particularly in the last three years.
Supported by Safaricom Foundation, is targeted at contributing to community driven approaches to addressing these challenges with the communities taking the lead and co investing.
It is the partners hope that this initiative will not only rally other supporters but also strengthen the food security situation within the short term but with a long term view.
This call is seeking to identify community based initiatives that demonstrate the following characteristics:
- The involvement of youth and women
- Strong conservation strategies
- Community initiatives in water harvesting and protection of catchments
- Driven by meeting local food needs as well as income generation
- Community leadership, investment and democracy
- Evidence of replication and adoption of individual members of the community at household level
- Careful balance between indigenous knowledge and use of modern techniques
- Reach atleast 150 families
- Backed by a strong community association or group legally registered.

The overall goal of the Changamoto Arts Fund has been to facilitate the achievement of the main objectives of KCDF and the GoDown by investing in local Kenyan artists in the most strategic place in their career.
The specific goals of the fund have been to:
- To support the production of new and innovative Kenyan art;
- To encourage risk taking in artistic production by funding projects that defines the Kenyan identity in a new light.
- To support productions that find creative ways of reaching new audiences.
- To support work that prioritizes Kenyan work first, then East African, then African.
- To support work whose creativity and innovation promote the excellence and cultural value of artistic work in general.
For this opportunity, the consultant shall submit a detailed report in both soft and hard bound copy together with all the supporting evidence (all inputs provided for the purpose of the evaluation by all stakeholders) to KCDF.

The consultancy will be carried out over a period of 7 days and must be concluded before the end of February 2010.
