The maasai Girls Education Fund is working to empower women thought education, Their new video, Only Through Education– captures why our work is important and how affording opportunities to get education to the girl child is making a difference to families and communities, and most importantly in the lives of the individual girls.
MGEF provides scholarships to Maasai girls in Kenya who otherwise would not be able to go to school. Scholarships are continuous until every student has the knowledge and skills needed to enter the workforce in Kenya. Through this long-term commitment, we are creating a generation of economically empowered Maasai women.
MGEF is one of the fund builders in KCDF’s Endowment. Maasai Girls Education Fund ensures that Maasai Girls will have an opportunity to access education scholarships for a long time to come. The Youth Development Programme aims to enhance the participation of young people in Kenya’s national development processes.
They key activities implemented to enhance participation include the provision of financial resources include grants to community based youth serving organizations over a 12 month period; technical-advisory support for institutional development; and opportunities for training and building capacity of youth in leadership within their communities to become more effective in their roles.
The training workshops are on leadership and social accountability.
